this new Blackbile song was written during a very sad time in my life
and like many sad moments in life, the reason wasn’t totally clear
i remember i was struggling to connect words to this
one day, during practice, the words came
i know what i was feeling:
disconnect
and desperation
these screams were my only release
their meaning still confuses me
the syntax is broken
and so the delivery is cryptic
it reflects how broken i felt inside
this band has always been a source of a lot of pain for me
because the prospect of writing and performing music, with no practical or logical reason to, feels like a pointless endeavor
yet it’s a need i have
i guess this song, is an ode to that, in a way
i often feel this sense of eternal return – returning to the same day
constantly, returning to this feeling
of infinite hopelessness
i don’t know that this song is meant to lift me up
but rather, it’s an introspection
